# Topographical Score

The following attributes are used to evaluate a parcel's Topographical score in Digital Village:

### Proximity to Portals

Portals in DV are used to teleport between zones - making them a very important feature in the multiverse. Closer proximity to a portal will increase the land’s Topographical score.

### Surrounding Availability

A parcel of land that has adjoining parcels available for purchase is considered more valuable since users will gain the ability to merge land. If there is a higher number of unclaimed land surrounding a parcel, its Topographical score will increase.
